Portrait bust
Miss Salva Foster Batchelder of Seaver Street in Brookline was a student at the Museum School. She studied privately under Allen in 1914 and 1915 with teaching fees listed as $50 in 1914 and later that Fall as $92. She was enrolled as a student at the SMFA in 1916-17, returning for advanced studies in 1925-26 at which time she was awarded the Kimball Prize and 3rd prize at a student exhibition. She was listed as “Honorary Schol.”
No further mention is made of a bust after his initial note in March, 1914,“Gave lessons to Miss Batchelder in Brookline and started her bust in same month.” No images available.
